There’s Plenty Life Up North!

Last Wednesday saw the return of North East Spring Expo to Newcastle Race Course. After a very successful day we left with a definite feeling of optimism.

There were plenty of thriving businesses attending the Expo, showing that even though things may have been more tricky in recent times, some good business sense, plenty of entrepreneurial flair, mixed with some infectiously positive Geordie spirit, would seem to be indicating a brighter future.

Economic down turn or not, there is plenty going on in The Far North of the country and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise …..Watch this space!

Jack Of All Trades?

Unfortunately in these days of austerity, with marketing and advertising budgets being cut, it would seem that we all have to work in a smarter more efficient manner to stay ahead of the game.

When we met with a creative marketing agency last week they were saying just this and it is a story that we are hearing again and again. Businesses in this sector are telling us they feel they need to offer a broader range of services, but rather than trying to be ‘Jack of all trades’, they plan to out-source the expertise they need. This enables them to take on projects they previously may have passed on to competitors.

This is where Useful Productions come in. We work closely with businesses providing logistic support, a production facility, storage and distribution, fulfilment & collation, event services & crews.

Aroma-pods……what are they? Often as you enter a supermarket you are hit with the luring smell of baking bread, but not all of them have on-site bakeries. Shops of all kinds are known to pump their preferred scent around their retail environment, be it baked bread, coffee or Christmas spice.

That is what an Aroma-pod does, with an enormous range of aromas available, from fresh cut flowers to toffee apples. Aroma-pods are one of the many items we have available to hire, to help your marketing campaign encompass all the senses.

I have been reading today that McCain are rolling out a campaign to launch Ready Made Jacket Potatoes. What caught my eye is was how they are doing this. They are installing 3D fibre glass potatoes in bus stop poster space, with a button to press that emits the smell of a cooking baked potato. What a great idea!

North East Expo Spring 2012

We’ve just signed up to exhibit in the North East Expo, at Newcastle Race Course on 18th April, come and see us at stands 420 & 424 in the Tote Hall. The Autumn Expo was incredibly successful with 180 companies exhibiting and 1400 people registering, so well worth a visit. Its the biggest event of its kind in the North East, – we’re looking forward to being part of it!
